OOPS Tuesday Takeaways, Jan 20, 2026

Welcome to our second Office of Possibilities Tuesday Takeaways newsletter (blog form!) Every week we  gather to support one another along our entrepurenurial and changemaker journeys. We celebrate one another's wins--whatever the size--and lift one another up during the hard times.

Here's just a bit of what was shared this week:

A Win

Jack and Alicia of Flabocce just crossed $200K lifetime revenue. In September 2025, they were at $20K. This time last year? $0.
We love to celebrate everyone's wins, big and small. But this one is really incredible. Way to go! (Next stop, Nationals!)

An Ask

Ester is working on an exciting new project in the health and hospitality space. While she may not be ready to talk about it publicly yet, she's definitely looking for folks who can help her learn and plan.  Please reach out to her
if that's you or if you know someone with whom she should connect!

A Quote

Matt on the seasonal challenges to rural Michigan entrepreneurship and in-person collaboration: "I even tried to leave early to get here. But it's bad out there. Leaving the house today, I saw a snow plow stuck in the alley."

An Insight

This week, many OOPsers--like Josh at Looper Lids, Evan at Orchard Cleaning, Brynn  at Pro Image Design and others--shared that their businesses are focused on annual planning, recertification, and other important, but often overlooked, "back-end" projects.

It feels like the right season for local entrepreneurs to work on their business rather than in it. (Especially before the madness of our high/ summer season hits.)

A Upcoming Opportunity (Or Two)

Today, Thursday Jan 22 at 4pm, Grove is having an informal happy hour for our coworking members. OOPsers are welcome and encouraged to swing by and join us for some snacks and boozes! (N/A options too.)

Please join us for our first TC SOUP of 2026! This early-stage pitch event--which includes live music and tasty food--is a great opportunity to support local entrepreneurs (including some OOPs regulars). If you can't join us please help spread the word! Ticket proceeds go to the winner.

Next Tuesday at 10am, Daniel from Crosshatch will be leading an OOPs learning session on "Community funding approaches to business innovation and financial resources for food and farm businesses." Please spread the word to any food and farm businesses in your network!

If you'd like to lead a laid-back learning session on an upcoming Tuesday, here's a link to get started.

Huge shout-out to Solutions by Farr, this week's newsletter sponsor

Many OOPsers have turned to Brayton for website and internal systems support, like calendars, email, and CRMs. He connects tools almost as well as he connects people. And if you know Brayton, you know what a tireless connecter he is of good human. Give him a shout today to see how he can support you!

And that's it for this Tuesday Takeaways newsletter.

Reminder:
this coming Tuesday, Jan 27, we'll be at Riverside (the restaurant in the Commongrounds building, 414 E 8th st.) not our normal home at West Shore.

Stay warm, stay connected, and we'll see you next Tuesday!

P.S. This message on the student-created art leading up to our workspace is especially important this time of year. And it's especially important for this time of..well time.
